Re: Speaking of cool wheels....

He's gonzo. His name is Durani. Just like I stated, but no one wanted to believe me. He took peoples startup money and burned it. Like I said long ago- not 1 person will get a set of wheels delivered. A lot of companies got burned by him and a lot of people gave money to those companies for deposits on wheels they never saw.

How'd you like to leave a 500.00 deposit for almost a year and then wait anxiously for them, only to find out the guy bailed out and now you gotta beg and hope you can get a refund.

So I'll say it again- If it's too good to be true, it probably is!

Re: Speaking of cool wheels....

I didn't send this Durani guy any money. I did see his add and it sparked my interest. Called his office and talked with the owner. He said he had talked with a few ZRX owners but needed a sample of the ZRX wheel, so he could make the jig. I had just smashed both my front and rear mags ( crash thread ) . So for a promised set of free wheels I sent him my broken ones. Now it's on my mind I think I'll give him a call.

Website is still up... http://durraniracing.com/

Here's an interview of the wheel guy done in January... http://www.motorcycleaddicts.org/out...art-1-5-a.html

That same website has a 3200 post thread about the wheels, although most of it seems to be post whore crap...

Re: Speaking of cool wheels....

I talked to him on the phone and I am ready to bring a set of wheels to him to work with. But, just didnt really get the response back I hoped for.

If this gets back up and going again, I still can get the wheels there. He is pretty close to me at work. I could easily do it at lunch, or right after work.

Re: Speaking of cool wheels....

Dredging up old history here, look at page 25 of the October Cycle World, paragraph and picture of Durrani 510 Series wheels there.

Can't find it online so I'll type it..any typos are mine.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Durrani 510 Series Wheels

Finally, lightweight magnesium 17-inch sportbike wheels at an affordable price! Weighing a clained 18.4 pounds (6.9 front, 11.5 rear), Durrani Racing's patented, injection-molded 510 Series ($1298) are 36 percent lighter than stock cast aluminum wheels. Durrani Racing Components, 24039 Research Dr., Farmington HIlls, MI 48335; 248/442-0077; www durraniracing.com

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Oh yeah, from their order page:

Quote:
Please note that while you may pre-order a set of Durrani 510 Series magnesium wheels w/ Magnesium Hubs/Cush Drive for $1298.00/ set and enter the production queue, we estimate that it will take up to 3-4 months before we have finalized the development of this exciting new technology. We are diligently working to launch full production. If at any time your circumstances change, a full refund can be issued upon request.

Re: Speaking of cool wheels....

What exactly do you guys need to know? I live about ten miles away from the Research Drive addy in Farmington Hills, and I'd be more than happy to go talk to the guy in person.
I've also got a couple of lightly damaged front rims if he needs one for R&D.
Gimme a list of bullet points you want answered, and I'll trip by the place sometime this week..

Main issue for me is the rear wheel offset of the 1200, that could be removed by an wheel MFG, so it needs to have center line true with front wheel, and then ask about width, widths available for the rear, 5.5 in, 6.0 in or larger?

these are the main points to me

Re: Speaking of cool wheels....

There's another thread about this here

http://zrxoa.org/forums/showthread.p...hlight=durrani,

Basicly he started taking pre orders in 2007, now he's taking them again. Don't think I'd trust him, but that's just me.

I am not a big fan of linking to another site but there is a 4000 plus post thread over on the Wera site about Durrani. DON'T do business with Durrani.

Re: Speaking of cool wheels....

Jebus..I ain't gonna read that whole freakin' bible!
One question..is Monte from STT still behind these guys like he was on page one of the thread, or did he drop outta the deal?
If Monte says they're good, it's worth a trip to Farmington to me to check it out for you'se guys..but if Monte decided he was getting spun, then I won't waste my time or anyone else's with the trip.
