I use a Chux (dispoable dish cloth) dampened with kerosene. It works a treat.

Cheers

Just about any solvent will do nicely. I used brake clean and rags on mine.Get the stuff free from work...

You have to try aerosol silicone lubricant. This stuff works great. It cuts through chain lube like nothing else I've ever tried and leaves a protective film. And it doesn't seem to be harsh on the skin like most solvents.

I just spray a little on a rag or paper towel and the stuff comes right off. Works better and smells better than WD40.

This again - Honda spray cleaner & polish – you will never use any other cleaner again. It works for everything and I mean everything

WD40 here also...but don't be "inventive" like I did and spray it on... most likely you'll overdo it and end up with question later: "Why my rear brake doesn't work?" :knock: :knock: :knock:

Tritto! (is that a word?) Actually, it's about the only thing I use WD-40 for.

Check the label on Simple Green.

I do know it cannot be used on aluminum aircraft parts because it embrittles the aluminum. My understanding it's a highly alkaline cleaner that damages alloys and aluminum.

We've had some guys destroy the finish on their rims using it.

Food for thought.

It cuts through ALL grease and leaves some protection. WD-40 is also good.
